Update on 'securitization' -- it really IS a word!

While I, like all of the people I've talked about this with, thought that maybe the President had invented a word for the junk mail company who sent the previously posted envelope to my roommate, it turns out that securitization is really a word.

Via the OED:
n. the action or process of converting (assets, esp. loans) into securities, usu. for the purpose of raising capital by selling them to other investors.

It looks like we didn't know what it meant, not because it wasn't a word, but rather because we aren't rich enough to need to know it. And believe me, this is a need to know basis kind of word.
