Governator confuses Verne with Vérité
Ah-nold recently argued against the idea of building a 700ish mile long wall along the border between Cah-lifoh-nia and Mexico, saying that it would be like "going back to the stone ages" cause we have better technology to track illegal entry than brute uh... walls and that illegal immigrants can just dig tunnels under the walls anyway. Good point. My favorite comment of his though, was his characterization of that advanced technology we were just talking about:
"We are landing men on the moon and in outer space using all these great things. I think that other technology really can secure the borders."
Yes, we are landing men in outer space. We just go up there, open the door and out they pop. There must be about 50 different astro- and cosmo- nauts up there right now, just hanging out, playing keep away with discarded Tang boxes.
And this is how we will prevent illegal immigration: via satellite. We'll beam the people into outer space when they try to cross the border. They're probably down to play keep away too, and then they could like, have leagues up there and stuff.
How the fuck do you land a man in outerspace anyway? I mean, is it possible to land if you're in space; like, doesn't landing require... land?
And by the way, how did our landing on the moon become the best example of our advanced technology? Correct me if I'm wrong, but we landed on the moon in 1969... approximately 40 years ago. I may be crazy for suggesting this, but I do believe technology has changed a bit since then.
e.g.
High tech in 1969: world's first (room-sized) supercomputer, the CDC 7600 built.
High tech in 2006: processors that measure 21mm square introduced.
Hahaha let's all laugh at how stupid Ah-nold is, hahaha... wait... he's my fucking governor! Goddammit.
