Today the US blocked a UN condemnation of the increasingly escalating Israeli attacks on Lebanon, despite the fact that basically every other country who has said anything in the matter has characterized the attacks as excessive, and as if you will, overkill.

My and your favorite Ambassador, John Bolthead defended the veto, saying:

"It placed demands on one side in the Middle East conflict but not the other. This draft resolution would have exacerbated tensions in the region."

Fuck, you're right! Well, thank god they're dropping bombs throughout the region instead. That certainly won't exacerbate anything.

What will it take, I mean what would Israel really have to do, to make the US stand up and say, "Stop!" I know this issue is complicated and it goes back a bajillion years and I'll never really get it and it'll probably never stop and all that. But holy fucking shit.
